Crypto Not Showing in Your Wallet

Funds that do not appear in a wallet are far more often invisible than gone. Wallets display what they are configured to look for, on the network they are currently set to.

Work through the checks in order. The block explorer is the source of truth; your wallet interface is not.

    The problem in one sentence

The sender says the transfer went out, but your wallet balance has not changed.

    Likely causes

    • The transfer is still unconfirmed.
    • The asset arrived on a different network than the one your wallet is currently viewing — the same address can exist on several EVM networks.
    • It is a token the wallet does not display until you add its contract address manually.
    • The wallet is on a stale cache or a failing node connection and has not resynced.
    • You are checking a different account or a different derivation path inside the same wallet app.
    • The sender used a different address than the one you own, or has not actually broadcast yet.

    How to verify

    1. Ask the sender for the transaction hash and the exact network they used.
    2. Open the explorer for that network and search the hash. Confirm the status and the destination address.
    3. Compare the destination address, character by character, with the receiving address you gave.
    4. Search your own receiving address on the same explorer. If the explorer shows the balance and your wallet does not, the chain is fine and the wallet display is the problem.
    5. Switch the wallet to the correct network, then refresh or resync.
    6. For tokens, add the token by its official contract address, taken from the project's own documentation or the explorer's verified token page.

    Safe actions

    • Add the token manually using a contract address you verified on an explorer, not one sent to you in a message.
    • Switch networks and resync before concluding anything is lost.
    • Reinstall or restore the wallet only after you have your recovery phrase written down and verified offline.

    What not to do

    • Never enter your recovery phrase into a website, a support chat, or a 'wallet validation' tool to make funds appear.
    • Do not trust a contract address pasted by a stranger — importing a fake token does not restore anything and is used to bait further steps.
    • Do not assume support staff who contacted you first are real support.

    When recovery may be impossible

If the explorer shows the funds arrived at an address you do not control, the transfer is final and cannot be reversed by anyone. If it arrived on a network your wallet software cannot access at all, access depends on whether your wallet type supports that network — a hardware or seed-based wallet often can, once the right network is added.

    Frequently Asked Questions

My balance shows on the explorer but not in my wallet. Are the funds safe?

Yes. The explorer reads the chain directly. If the chain shows the balance at your address, the assets exist and the wallet display needs the correct network, token entry or a resync.

Do I need a new wallet to see a token?

Usually not. Most wallets let you add a token by contract address on a supported network. Take the contract address from the project's official documentation or a verified explorer listing.
